Summitcrimsonvalley Publishing Ltd is responsible for personal information it processes in connection with this website and editorial correspondence. Our registered office is 16 Castle Street, Exeter, EX4 3PT, United Kingdom; company no. 15326749. Contact [email protected] with privacy enquiries.
Reading the website
The site's own code includes no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, third-party fonts or embedded social widgets. Requests to deliver pages and images necessarily involve technical information such as an IP address and browser request details. Hosting infrastructure may retain access and security logs to operate, protect and troubleshoot the service.
The message composer
Text entered into the contact composer is processed in your browser. The tool does not transmit the fields to us or save them in local storage. Copy uses your device's clipboard; Download creates a local text file. Browser features, extensions or device backups may operate independently of this website.
If you send the resulting message by email, we receive the contents, your address and associated message metadata. Please do not include payment information or unnecessary sensitive personal details.
Why we process correspondence
We use correspondence to answer enquiries, assess corrections, manage editorial communications and handle rights requests. We generally rely on legitimate interests in running a responsible publication and responding to people who contact us. Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, that obligation is the relevant basis.
Browser preferences
If you select a preference on our Cookies page, we store that choice locally under scv-cookie-preference. It is not a unique visitor identifier. See Cookies for the available controls and deletion instructions.
Sharing and retention
Technical hosting and email providers may process information needed to deliver those services. We do not sell correspondence or use it for behavioural advertising. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to establish or defend legal claims.
We keep correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the enquiry, retain a useful correction record or meet legal requirements, then delete or minimise it. Retention depends on the nature of the issue. If a service provider processes information outside the UK, applicable transfer requirements must be addressed through appropriate safeguards or another lawful mechanism.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Rights are not absolute. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. Email us to exercise your rights; we normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions.
You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would also welcome the opportunity to address your concern directly.
